So anyway, this morning was a crisp 22 degrees and beautiful out. I didn't even need a hat. Everything was sparkling in the sunlight and the air smelled like woodstove. I didn't take a picture of it all since there is no way to capture that early morning feeling when all is quiet and the air smells so good. I was alone walking to work, taking it all in and had a moment of pure happiness and satisfaction.
Jenny and I worked from 9:00am to 9:45am. Slave drivers. Just one cabin to clean today, but we have a bunch of people coming in this week. Business is good! So far, I've broken 2 coffee pots and it takes twice as long as it should for me to clean since I have to feed Andie every little while. It's only a matter of time until my in-laws realize I'm costing them more money than I'm worth. I am still curling my hair and wearing lipstick to work, even though I'll only see Jenny most of the time and nobody cares in the least how I look. People who rent the cabins don't even use the shower half the time. It will be interesting to see how long it takes me to give up old habits. Stay tuned for this very riveting story--Vanity Watch 2012.
While I did that, Andie was busy working on her rolling. Always to the left and sometimes, as you can see, she gets high centered and stuck on her face.
In spite of all the activity, the most exciting part of the day was Rick's grandma Norma losing her dentures in the heating vent at Big Rick and Pat's house. I can't explain how cause nobody knows!
I notice that you do your hair! I think you look fabulous and it makes me feel very "woodsy". I have to get some new clothes...
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures and the commentary on what the kids are doing. You just crack me up!

K - love the pegboard and of course the pics!
ReplyDeleteWe have not met, but Norma is my Great-Grandma, and Pat is my Grandma Shirley's sister. My grandma sent me a Facebook message to let me know about your blog. I lived with Rick and Pat for 5 summers working at the resort while I was in high school. I look forward to hearing your stories, and I hope to meet you soon, as my husband still has not been to the resort, so we need to make a trip up North, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.
